(Atlanta) SOUTH KOREA WEEK: October 28 - November 1- GSU

Andrew Young School of Policy Studies panel session with Nicholas Hamisevicz of the Korean Economic Institute, Dr. Joong-Kyung Choi, Chair Professor of Economics, Dongguk University and former Minister of Knowledge Economy, and Anthony Kim, Senior Policy Analyst for Economic Freedom, The Heritage Foundation.

For further information, please contact Dr. Grace O at graceo@gsu.edu.

Tuesday, October 29: Korean Economic Institute Six Party Talk Simulation with Students, 3 – 5p, Andrew Young School Room 750

Led by Nicholas Hamisevicz of the Korea Economic Institute, a participant simulation representing the United States, North Korea, South Korea, China, Japan, and Russia will be conducted to resolve four challenges with a given scenario provided by the Korean Economic Institute.

No preliminary knowledge is required to participate.

Scenario:  The six parties are faced with the task of coming to an agreement on a package deal that will lay the groundwork for normalized relations between all six countries and successfully establishing peace and security in Northeast Asia.  The challenges facing the summit have already been identified and it has come down to the last four barriers that stand in the way.  Only these four challenges remain.  The parties must be able to come to an agreement on all four issues together, or no agreement will be declared.  In addition, the options that exist have previously been agreed upon by all six parties, therefore, straying from the choices at hand will not be permitted. The international community has been pressing hard for each of the six parties to use this summit as the final opportunity to bring stability in the Northeast Asian region.  Scenario provided by the Korean Economic Institute.

For further information, please contact Dr. Grace O at graceo@gsu.edu.
